Dexela Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Denyer as Director and Non-Executive Chairman of Dexela Limited. Dexela’s Chief Executive, Ed Bullard, commented 'Reflecting the changing focus of the company, we are delighted to have someone with such extensive technical and commercial expertise and experience join us. Peter founded and built the Vision Group, the Edinburgh-based creator of CMOS Imager chips used widely in digital cameras and has gone on to help a number of technology companies. He currently serves as Non-Executive Director for the ERA Foundation and is Non-Executive Chairman or Non-Executive Director of several technology companies.

Peter takes over as Chairman from Mike Brady who remains on the board of Dexela as a Non-Executive Director with specific expertise in image analysis applied to mammography and digital breast tomosynthesis.

Conventional mammography has a significant rate of both false negatives and false positives, particularly in younger women. Incidence of Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Each year, there are over 44,000 new cases and over 12,000 deaths from this disease. The lifetime risk for a woman of developing breast cancer is one in nine (11%). Breast cancer survival rates are better the earlier the cancer is diagnosed. Around 9 out of 10 of women diagnosed with stage I breast cancer survives beyond five years. This drops to around 1 out of 10 diagnosed with stage IV.
