Dexela Limited is pleased to announce a five year collaboration and licensing agreement for breast tomosynthesis with digital mammography manufacturer IMS S.R.L. of Bologna Italy. Dexela’s Chief Executive, Ed Bullard, commented ‘We are delighted to announce our second major OEM relationship in tomosynthesis with IMS. IMS has a history of innovation in mammography and we are delighted to be working with them to bring to market an optimised breast tomosynthesis system that will offer the highest quality breast tomosynthesis and FFDM imaging to radiologists and their patients. This is an exciting time for Dexela and we look forward to working with IMS to introduce a best-in-class product to improve the accuracy and cost effectiveness of breast cancer screening.’

Under the agreement, Dexela will provide intellectual property, expertise and tomosynthesis software for a new product offering tomosynthesis, FFDM and biopsy. The product will use sophisticated iterative reconstruction software and Dexela’s unique and patented non-uniform tomosynthesis geometry to provide optimised image quality at a reduced radiation dose to the patient.
